JSONL Viewer

Open JSONL and NDJSON files locally. Inspect source and trees, browse object records in a table, and locate invalid JSON records by line number.

JSON Lines stores one JSON value per line and is also called newline-delimited JSON or NDJSON. It is often used for event logs and record exports that do not wrap every record in a single array.

How to use the JSONL Viewer

Choose a .jsonl or .ndjson file to inspect records. Browse object records as a table or switch to source and tree views. Blank lines are skipped, while a malformed record stops parsing and reports its line number.

What the JSONL Viewer supports

Read source and trees, browse object records in a table and find invalid JSON by line number. NDJSON is also supported.

File limits and compatibility

200 MiB input, subject to expanded memory limits. Source preview is bounded. Blank lines are skipped; malformed records stop parsing.

Expanded content can reach browser limits before the input limit. If opening fails, try a smaller supported file. No cloud fallback is used. This viewer is free and requires no account.

JSONL Viewer FAQ

Does the JSONL viewer also support NDJSON?

Yes. Both .jsonl and .ndjson files use the newline-delimited JSON path. Each nonblank line must contain a valid JSON value.

Why does parsing stop on an invalid line?

The viewer reports the malformed record by line number instead of silently dropping data. Correct the original file in another tool before opening it again.

Is the JSONL viewer streaming or unlimited?

No. The input cap is 200 MiB and parsing happens in a worker without streaming. Expanded data and bounded previews mean smaller files can also reach memory limits.
